After Beyoncé first obliterated the Internet with her Instagram pregnancy reveal, the world waited with bated breath for the arrival of her twins. Earlier this month, the news finally broke—Beyoncé had reportedly given birth to her two new babies. However, unlike her initial announcement, not a word about them has been heard from Bey.
This past weekend, the superstar spoke out for the first time since the birth—but not about the twins. After winning a BET Awards prize, R&B singers Chloe and Halle Bailey read an acceptance speech on Beyoncé’s behalf. And while the statement of gratitude openly discussed Beyoncé’s love and appreciation for her family, it was understandably geared towards Lemonade, rather than this latest chapter in her life.
“Thank you, BET, for this award and your tremendous support of Lemonade,” the statement read. “This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honoring the past, and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve. . . . Thank you to my mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, for being my biggest, biggest teacher and consistent influence. Thank you to my entire family for so much love. To my team at Parkwood [Entertainment], thank you. And thanks to all the fans, my Beyhive, for riding with me. I love and appreciate you. And to everyone at the show tonight, you all look so beautiful. And at home, thank you, and have a wonderful, wonderful night. From, Beyoncé.”
Besides some wild rumors, there hasn’t been a whole lot of information available. Beyoncé and JAY-Z have reportedly left the hospital with their newborn twins and arrived in a new, temporary home—a luxurious 6-acre oceanfront estate in Malibu, which they’re renting for $400,000 a month. The ocean-front property was once for sale for a whopping $75 million, which made it one of the most expensive homes on the market in the area.
Named La Villa Contenta, the private property boasts “a library/study, gourmet kitchen, wine cellar, full gym, movie theater and large terraces with ocean views,” according to Trulia. Blue Ivy and her newly-welcomed siblings will be living large at the rental this summer, especially with a “kiddie-friendly wading pool.” Blue Ivy and her newly-welcomed siblings will be living large at the rental this summer, especially with a “kiddie-friendly wading pool.”
The first thing guests see when entering the lavish 10 bedrooms and 14 bathroom home, is a foyer fit for Queen Bey, decked in colored tiles, golden fixtures, and a wrought iron staircase.
There are plenty of living rooms to lounge in, including this one with open-air waterfront views. The cream-colored couches and antique accessories make for a modern take on a classic home.
Plus, the baby grand piano is a necessary fixture for a family of music royalty.
Exquisite paintings and chandeliers hang in rib vault hallways, like this one, which leads to a dreamy garden overlooking the beach—manicured hedges and fountain included.
When the kids are hungry, they’ll probably have a meal in this all-white kitchen, where the wooden details on the cabinets balance with the marble countertops for a rustic charm. In the next room over, the Carters might enjoy a sitting around the table in front of a floor-to-ceiling window, where they can look out on the blue tides while having breakfast.
In the $54.5 million estates, dinner for the family of five won’t be an issue. Their dining room seats 10, leaving room for multiple guests.
Outside, the 16,107-square-foot La Villa Contenta has more sitting areas for relaxation, work and watching the tots play. The home includes lounge space in and out of the sun, a large lawn perfect for a jungle gym and much more.
