Roger Vivier announced today that its longtime creative director Bruno Frisoni will be leaving the company. Frisoni’s final collection will be the Fall 2018 line, to be shown in Paris on February 27. In a release, the designer said, “These sixteen years dedicated to reviving Roger Vivier represent a fascinating and exceptional experience. I thank Mr. Diego Della Valle for his trust, Ines [de la Fressange], an inspiration and a friend forever, and, of course, the talented teams and collaborators who allowed me to bring the brand where it is today. An extraordinary adventure.”

During his 16-year tenure, Frisoni modernized the maison most famous for Catherine Deneuve’s Belle de Jour buckle shoes into a place for ingenues of all strokes to shop. Under Frisoni’s eye, the brand routinely spotlighted young French talent, like Jeanne Damas and Ana Girardot, in its campaigns and established a playful spirit seen in the wide variety of styles Frisoni created, from the graphic takes on the Belle pumps to the new sneaker silhouettes. Diego Della Valle, president and CEO of the Tod’s Group, which owns Roger Vivier, said in a release, “I would like to thank Bruno on my behalf and on behalf of all the people who work for Roger Vivier, for the work which has been done during all these years and I wish Bruno a future filled with new opportunities and success.”
